Documentary Screening on the Mines of Kalavasos

On Friday, 21 November 2025, at 7 p.m., a special documentary dedicated to the rich mining heritage of Kalavasos will be screened at the Timotheio Cultural Centre (former Museum).

The documentary highlights:

• the development of the Kalavasos mines from the early 20th century,
• the challenging and often harsh working conditions faced by the miners,
• personal testimonies from people who lived and worked in the mines,
• rare photographs and archival material illustrating the mines’ influence on the village’s social and economic life.

A screening that honours the history, the people, and the memory of the community.

The event is organised by the People’s Organisations, PEO, and KAON Kalavasos.
