Kalavasos’ Young Minds

In the heart of Kalavasos lies a place where the youngest members of the community are welcomed to grow, play and learn — Kalavasos Public Kindergarten. Here, children explore with wonder, create with joy, and develop confidence in a nurturing, secure and supportive setting.

Until the summer of 2025, the kindergarten shared facilities with the village’s primary school. From September 2025 onward, it occupies its own purpose-designed building at Archbishop Makarios III 52, right across from the Kalavasos Community Council. This move has enabled richer, more flexible programming catered to the holistic development of young learners.

The kindergarten emphasizes not just early learning, but social growth, creativity, and connection to the world.

Through play, arts, stories, music, nature, and community projects, children engage with values of respect, empathy, and care for the environment. The Kalavasos Public Kindergarten is supported by an experienced and dedicated team: a principal, a kindergarten teacher, a speech therapist, and a school assistant. Together, they work daily to offer each child nurturing care, educational guidance, and a safe space to grow creatively and confidently.

Parents’ Association Activities
The Parents’ Association plays an active role in the life of the kindergarten (often collaborating with the Primary School’s association). It organizes events such as parades, cultural celebrations, charitable initiatives, and school-community projects. Through its work, it strengthens the bond between parents, teachers, and children, fostering a shared sense of community and support.
